Interior layout

First Floor:
On the first floor, we have the main living area. The space on this level is significantly larger than the second floor. It features three bathrooms, including an en-suite in the master bedroom (the parents' bedroom), a home office, and a small guest bedroom to comfortably accommodate visitors. A vast open-plan kitchen combined with the living room provides a generous gathering space. Adjacent to the kitchen and living room is a spacious terrace measuring 58 square meters (approximately 624 square feet), perfect for outdoor relaxation. To the right of the entrance, there is a carport that comfortably fits two vehicles.

Second Floor:
Moving up to the second floor, we enter an area reserved exclusively for the residents of the house. Here, you'll find a large walk-in closet with a total area of 11 square meters (approximately 118 square feet), a spacious bathroom, and two bedrooms for the children. Additionally, the second-floor corridor offers a stunning view of the living room through the double-height ceiling, allowing the living area to feel grand and connected, seamlessly linking both levels of this expansive home.
Construction Details
The external walls of the house were built using beams with a thickness of 240 mm (approximately 9.45 inches) and a height of 270 mm (approximately 10.63 inches). This design choice allowed the house's massive structures to remain visually accessible and aligned with proportions that are easier for the human eye to comprehend. Given that the region experiences cold winters, with Atlantic winds bringing frigid weather, the homeowners decided to use thicker beams to maintain the energy efficiency of the house during the winter months.

Additionally, the internal walls (partitions) were also made from timber but with a different cross-section. The thickness of the timber in the partitions ranges from 160 mm to 200 mm (approximately 6.3 to 7.87 inches), depending on the room and its purpose (thicker timber is used for sound insulation). The total volume of the house kit amounted to 140 cubic meters (approximately 4,944 cubic feet) of timber, components, and related materials necessary for assembly.
Shipping and Timeline
The delivery was made by sea without reloading the goods from shipping containers onto trucks. The house kit was delivered directly to the construction site in shipping containers, quickly unloaded, and the containers were returned empty to the port. Overall, the delivery required three 40-foot containers and one 20-foot container for smaller components. The total delivery time was 41 days. The construction process took 24 working days, with the longest phase being the design process. Finalizing the design and all the project details required 60 working days.
Assembly and Execution:
The assembly was carried out by a local company in the U.S., which the client independently selected. This company has many years of experience in building wooden houses, though assembling a structure of this type was a new challenge for them. However, the process went smoothly, with no significant difficulties. Our assembly specialist provided consultation during the first five working days at the initial stages of construction, clearly explaining all the technical aspects and details crucial for erecting a wooden house made of glulam beams.

Thanks to the absence of specialized equipment requirements, the need for highly specific knowledge, and the well-thought-out production technology, any team with experience in building wooden houses can successfully assemble our house kits.
