Interior layout
First Floor: The first floor is spacious and includes two large terraces: one measuring 22 square meters (approximately 237 square feet) and the other 71.5 square meters (approximately 770 square feet). These terraces provide the perfect space for barbecues and outdoor gatherings.
Inside, the master bedroom boasts ample storage space and a private bathroom. There's also a guest room or home office with an attached bathroom, as well as another room that can serve as a bedroom or a children's playroom, also featuring a separate bathroom and a sound-insulated vestibule for privacy. The expansive living room, with an area of 46.5 square meters (approximately 500 square feet), creates a welcoming atmosphere, and the open-plan kitchen and dining area, measuring 57 square meters (approximately 613 square feet), is perfect for hosting family meals and gatherings.
In the center of the house is a staircase, ingeniously designed with hidden storage spaces, adding functionality to the home. In total, there are four bathrooms on the first floor, along with several technical rooms for maintaining the house’s systems. The grand foyer and a small 5-square-meter (approximately 54-square-foot) porch complete the layout of the first floor.
Second Floor: The second floor features a fireplace room, which can be used as a library, and two symmetrically placed bedrooms. Additionally, there's a spacious walk-in closet and a large bathroom. From the balcony on the second floor, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the living room through the double-height ceiling, which enhances the sense of grandeur and openness in the home.
Design Process
The design of the "Julietta" house was an iterative process, as the clients had specific requests and desires for each room and space. While the initial design was large, the family decided to increase the size of certain rooms to meet their growing needs. Despite its grand scale, the clients expressed that the layout and internal logistics were perfectly thought out, allowing them to enjoy both large gatherings and peaceful retreats within the home.
Our clients were particularly focused on making the home spacious enough to accommodate their entire extended family comfortably. This led to several modifications throughout the design process, ensuring every corner of the house was customized to perfection. Although we typically advise against such large projects for smaller families, the feedback from the clients has been overwhelmingly positive—they have found that the layout is ideal for both family gatherings and personal privacy.
Construction and Delivery
The house was delivered by road, with several trucks transporting the wooden components directly to the construction site. The materials were quickly unloaded and construction began immediately. Despite the massive size of the house, the assembly process was completed in just under nine weeks, an impressive timeline for such a large project.
A team of eight skilled builders, specializing in frame construction, managed the assembly of the house with ease. Together with the homeowner and his eldest son, they efficiently completed the construction within a single building season. It is likely that a family gathering or celebration is happening in the house right now, creating wonderful moments for all members, each having their own space for hobbies while being together under one roof.
Final Thoughts
The "Julietta" house is not just a large, luxurious residence—it’s a home designed to bring family members together while still offering each person a space of their own. With its impressive size, thoughtful design, and exceptional functionality, it stands as a testament to the possibilities of modern wooden home construction. We at our company are proud to have been a part of realizing this magnificent home, where countless family memories will be made for years to come.
